FranchiseRoute  was established by Brian Burns as a result of the success in Franchising his own business. In 1989 Brian founded his own Asset Leasing business, expanding the business during the '90s by both employing direct sale people and recruiting independent agents.

The huge investment, both financilal and in time associated with running a direct sales team and managing 'self employed' agents were the motivating factors to search for a more cost effective and profitable business expansion plan.

Investigations led to ONE solution....Franchising. Offering business focussed individuals with a desire and drive to operate their own business, would deliver a fast and financially efficient model to expand the company into every corner of the UK marketplace and beyond.

In 2004 the Franchise model was ready for launch. All documentation, recruitment systems, training, coaching and mentoring programmes in place as were the marketing and promotional materials.

Only 37 months later, the business had recruited the full compliment of 52 Franchisees and was benefitting from the huge increase in turnover and proifits that a large Franchise network brings.

The massive success gained by Franchising the business, led other business contacts to approach Brian asking for assistance in Franchising thier businesses.

However, SMB businesses have particular issues, which we understood when Franchising our business. We don't have huge reserves on liquid capital, we don't have spare people we can throw at a project and we don't have massive amounts of free time to be diverted from running the core business.
